Affirmations are awesome.
Some affirmations are easier to believe than others; which makes some affirmations more helpful and valuable than others.
If you stand in front of your mirror every morning telling yourself that you are the most or the best at something you KNOW isn’t true, that affirmation may not help you much. I can stand in front of my mirror and claim to be the best singer in all the lands, but I sure don’t have any platinum albums on my wall.
If you are new to affirmations, maybe starting with daily affirmation statements will be easier for you to believe and therefore easier for you to walk in. For example, the 5 Reiki principles are perfect:
Just for today I will not worry.
Just for today I will not be angry.
Just for today I will do my work honestly.
Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living being.
As you become more comfortable with affirmations, then you can try ones which have no time limit. For example:
I am surrounded by love and everything is fine.
Every day in every way I am getting happier and happier.
I love myself deeply and unconditionally.
Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation. The more we repeat affirmations the more we keep our minds focused on our desired situation which helps us take steps we would not ordinarily take because we are starting to believe it is possible. And guess what? If it is possible in the universe then it is possible for you. You only need to take steps outside your comfort zone to help make it happen.
The more we practice affirmations and see the results they have for our life, the more likely we are to keep using them and to make them more bold. As you step more into your own fullness, then that affirmation about being the best singer in the world? Well, you’ll already know it to be true 😉
